  • Since South Lebanon Township is mandated by the State to recycle, burning is not permitted in the township except in agricultural zones and they may only burn items associated with the farming operation.

  • Pavilions are by reservation only on Saturday, Sunday and legal holidays. Reservation fees for $100 for pavilions with electric and $70 for the pavilions that do not have electric. Township residents, schools, churches and non-profit organizations are given a 50% discount. Residents must provide proof of residency. Schools, churches and non-profits must pay with an organization check to receive the discount. Pavilions may be used Monday-Friday without reservations on a first come first serve basis.

  • Special events such as tournaments, 5K runs, walk-a-thons must have approval from the Board of Supervisors. Send a written request with the details to the Board of Supervisors, 1800 S 5th Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042. E-mail requests should be sent to sltownship@comcast.net. Once approval is given, the organization will be given the information on required insurance.

  • You may request a three-year, ten-year or full driver's history by using PennDOT’s Online Services or by completing a "Request for Driver Information" form (Form DL-503) and submitting it to PennDOT. Certified histories are only available by completing Form DL-503. The form contains detailed instructions and lists fees for different types of driving records.

  • The term setback means the required distance separating a building or structure from a property line. Setback regulations for buildings are included in the Zoning Ordinance. Setback regulations for accessory structures are also included in the Zoning Ordinance. Next, look up the permitted uses for your zoning district. If your use is not listed in the permitted use section, check with the Planning Department for other possible options.

  • All residents, businesses, schools, churches, institutions in the Township are required to recycle clear glass, colored glass, newspaper, aluminum cans, bi-metal cans and plastic bottles and jugs with a neck. All businesses, schools, churches, institutions are also required to recycle corrugated cardboard and office paper. Be sure to check with your hauler since some of them will collect more than the required items.

  • The township has a collection containers outside the fence at the Yard Waste and Recycling Center located at 3 Linden Road. The entrance to Linden Road is across from the VA Medical Center, near the water tower along State Drive. All boxes MUST be flattened and placed INSIDE the container. Violators may be fined.

Mixed paper includes: shredded paper (NO BAGS), office paper, manilla folders (NO BINDERS), junk mail, magazines, newspapers and their inserts, phone books, paperback books (NO HARDCOVERS), cereal boxes and other similar boxes (i.e. paperboard or chip board), etc. NO CARDBOARD IN THIS BIN!  Violators may be fined.

  • The township collects yard waste curbside 2 times a year (Spring & Fall). Dates will be published in our newsletters and on this website, but typically it is during early April and late September. Leaves only are collected from mid-October to the end of November. The start dates will also be published in the January & July newsletters and on this website. If you have yard waste at other times of the year, you can take it to the Yard Waste & Recycling Center after obtaining a permit. To get a permit, you need to stop at the South Lebanon Township office and fill out the form and make payment.
